This version (probably the 1976 Buena Vista re-release) of the 1936 Disney cartoon The Country Cousin was included on the 1983 VHS “Disney’s Best of 1931–1948.” The standard Silly Symphony card cuts to the 1949 reissue title card that we see today, so no surprises there. The closing title, however, is very odd: the early 50s non-theatrical “The End” lettering is placed on a burlap background – and there is also an iris in. I haven’t seen this type of end title on any other Disney short.
