I stopped for a while to test things in Shrine Path on my NG+ playthrough. I found some OoBs and came quite close to finding a sequence break, although sadly the game's triggers disallow it.
Here's what happened:
0:00 - Aside from being able to slowly climb certain type of angled floor with evades and attacks, it's possible to do bigger launches if you can find a perfectly shaped ramp of collision and enter it with high enough speed.
I found a series of two launches in the middle part of Shrine Path which lets you unlock the alternative path to Shrine Vault immediately after picking up the dagger. (This isn't even particularly difficult to do, it's just a matter of finding a good angle and position to get the launch to happen.)
0:35 - Since Fox Mask still hasn't slammed the Shrine Vault doors shut, it can be entered without solving any puzzles. However, while the key item inside exists and has a prompt, it cannot be picked up yet. (Pity, otherwise this would've been a pretty decent sequence break.)
(For some reason the save point outside is also invisible at this stage.)
1:37 - I tried doing the level backwards to see if there was any hope of skipping anything with this early shortcut. I went to the big Shrine to watch the cutscene there, then returned to Shrine Vault using the shortcut.
2:14 - Now the interior of the Shrine Vault is lit and the save point has loaded, but the key remains unpickable.
2:39 - Continuing to play the level backwards, the Fox Mask who normally stays enigmatically at a distance does not vanish and can instead be approached. Time to make him pay for mildly inconveniencing us! ...Well, weapon swipes don't really do anything against him, sadly.
3:17 - Fox Mask also appears (yes, in two places at once) at the doorway to the Shrine Vault after you've went through the path again. However, the level is utterly softlocked at this point. It's no longer possible to enter the correct sequence of events which would slam the Vault doors shut and begin the puzzle no matter what you do.
(Not on the vid: if you save at this point, the save file ends up in the same softlocked state.)
3:51 - Another test I had in this area was at the big Shrine. One of the fox statues there can also be used to do a big launch. This one is much more difficult to get right, and I still don't have a particularly consistent setup for it.
4:07 - With enough height and precise movement, it's possible to go fully OoB using this launch, ending outside the boundaries of the level. Neat!
There isn't much loaded behind the doors, so it doesn't look like you can do a sequence break using this OoB either. However, it opens up some nice sightseeing possibilities.
5:03 - The unloaded first room of the level, viewed from outside.
After this, I run for a while to reach the south edge of the map. The water extends infinitely, but you can see where the floor ends underneath the water. It doesn't seem possible to accidentally (or intentionally) drop off the edge of the map.
If you go too far out of bounds, the map screen gives up on trying to pinpoint the player's location and instead just zooms in to some seemingly unrelated point.
6:32 - The prompts for examining the hanging Ema can't be used through a wall.
7:05 - Just a funny looking clip of approaching Fox Mask as he is hanging out on an unloaded bridge. Walking against the side of the bridge tries to readjust Hinako's height rapidly as you move around.
7:54 - If you save Out of Bounds, you return to the same coordinates Out of Bounds after loading.
As such, it's actually surprisingly difficult to return back in bounds once you're OoB. The walls are two-sided and most prompts can't be reached or hit through walls.
8:14 - But I did find at least one spot for doing so: at the bridge leading to the bizarre eye tree you can just climb the cliffs your way back inside the level.
(Not on the vid: if you touch the "guess I should follow him" trigger from out of bounds, the game can't auto-walk Hinako to the correct path and you get softlocked. You basically lose control of her forever, other than the ability to switch weapons.)
P.s. Merry Christmas!
