In this DROPS video we give you a quick overview of how a garment where the yoke has sewn-in sleeves sits on the body, and where the increase/decrease lines are positioned.
SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece can be knitted/crocheted both top down and bottom up.
TOP DOWN:
The front and back pieces are knitted/crocheted either separately to finished length, or separately as far as the armholes. The pieces are then joined and the body finished downwards. When the body is finished, the shoulder seams are sewn. Stitches can be knitted/crocheted up around the armholes and the sleeves worked downwards or the sleeves can be worked bottom up and sewn into the body. The neck is worked to finish.
BOTTOM UP:
The front and back pieces are knitted/crocheted bottom up, either separately to finished length, or joined as far as the armholes then separately to finished length. The shoulder seams are sewn.
Stitches can be knitted/crocheted up around the armholes and the sleeves worked downwards or the sleeves can be worked bottom up and sewn into the body.
The neck is worked to finish.
