In this DROPS video we show how to work a picot edge with 5 stitches in between each picot. We work back and forth, but you can also work it in the round.

Work like this on row 1:
* Knit 7 stitches, slip 2nd stitch on right needle over outermost stitch on right needle (over the last stitch worked), pass next stitch on right needle over outermost stitch on right needle (2 stitches decreased = 1 arch) *, work from *-* the entire row.
