In a report on the Butler, Pennsylvania assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe provided a detailed breakdown of communications with the local law enforcement that the Secret Service was working with that day to secure the venue and the surrounding areas.
Since the incident, interviews with agents and other law enforcement have revealed “discrepancies” in the understanding and expectation of how the site security planning was supposed to go, according to the report.
Since July 13th, the Secret Service has elevated its protective model. Rowe reiterated that the former president is getting everything that President Biden is getting in terms of protection, including tactical assets and counter assault teams.
