SDR Minion QRP radio is kind of discovery on the pretty saturated QRP market. This ham radio transceiver is fully SDR (Software Defined Radio) and it's very compact, really "Minion", measuring just about 10 X 10 X 3 cm. Despite this small size it covers all 10 HF bands from 160 to 10 meters, produces full 5W or even more of power and, last but not least, has got a fully functioning colour display with spectrum scope and waterfall! I liked all these features and decided to buy this small radio from the Ukrainian company "QRPver" on my own money. So, I have no relations with this company , nor is my review somehow influenced by the company.
This is the first review in the series and is devoted to the first impressions on this little radio. I am pretty impressed by the quality of the receiver, digital filters and the sound quality in general. First attempts to make a SSB QSO ended up in a nice contact with the Japanese station on 40m band!
There will be few more reviews coming, I'm going to test the "Minion's" work on CW, FT8, make some measurements etc.
