Scabies Signs and Symptoms (Some Pretty Crazy Ones!) & Why They Happen

Scabies is an infection of the skin by mites of the species Sarcoptes scabei. These mites burrow into the skin and lay eggs, all of which leads to irritation and itching and other skin findings. Some of these skin findings include red dots in a "String of Pearls" or "Knots on Rope" pattern, in some patients crusting of the hands, and in other patients large nodules. In this lesson, we discuss all of these symptoms and more including why they occur.
