As part of #HeritageAtRisk, we are funding urgent repairs to the thatched roof of the Grade I-listed Friends' Meeting House in Come-to-Good, Cornwall. ⛪
Since 1710, this historic cob and thatch structure has served as a place of worship for Cornwall’s Quaker community, making it one of England's oldest Quaker Meeting Houses.
Its white-painted cob walls and combed wheat reed roof showcase historic building techniques, and the interior still features original unpainted pine fittings.
We are working with skilled craftspeople to restore the roof timbers and re-thatch the building using traditional materials, ensuring the protection of this important heritage site. ⚒️
