Sansui G-9000 weekend after a 8 month hiatus. Powered up and functioning perfect with all 160 watts per channel. This is what I call “audio jewelry”. From the receiver wars in 1978.
I’ve mentioned it before, but I collect and have a large assortment of receivers. A different setup and speaker combination is put together each weekend. My technique and formula seems to work - run them from time to time and play them respectfully. This unit just wants to please. It’s like a good golden retriever.
Listened to quite a bit of different things this weekend. Including getting back into the Beatles a little, which was my primary brand of music between 1988 and 1994, where I probably listened to each released album and 20+ boots nearly 50 times each (also watched the VHS “The Compleat Beatles” so much to where I wore the tape out to be unplayable and had to buy another, which then was in hi-fi and then longed for the stereo versions of the first four albums on CD/digital.)
OK - let’s get back to point here. Still my all-time favorite group! I still remember all the different versions of the songs released whether they be stereo, mono, British EMI release, US Capitol release, 1990’s Anthology or bootleg.
Anyways, here’s one of my favorite Ringo Starr songs after the Beatles departed.
