The Ryan STM-2 was a monoplane trainer used by the Dutch army and navy in the Dutch East Indies. After the Japanese invasion in 1941, many of the 108 Ryans were used in combat for reconnaissance roles. STM-2s that were not captured by the Japanese were shipped to Australia.
