I was lucky enough to visit Rutland Water parkrun on pacer week (the first Saturday of the month) which made the event feel even more supportive than usual, if that is possible! This is a stunning venue for a parkrun. Towards the end of the parkrun covid pause my extended family met for a holiday in the area, which means I have cycled around the perimeter of Rutland Water, and have previously freedom run the parkrun route so I expected not to be wowed by the parkrun route as I had seen it before. However, this is the type of magical place that fills your soul with happiness every time you are there, so I was indeed wowed by the location.
The team themselves were just incredible. So super welcoming and extremely friendly. I encourage anyone visiting this parkrun to stick around for a chat with this wonderful bunch of people. I can't thank them enough for such a lovely morning. I hear improvements are planned in the café to reduce the length of the post-parkrun queue which will be great! This parkrun has all of the ingredients for a perfect parkrun. Café with an unbelievable view, toilets, parking, a super team, and a really special route. Make sure you visit it if you can!
