I realised at the last minute that Runners and Riders must be around now so I put some feelers out and managed to make it over to Appletreewick just in time (I only found out about the race date three hours before the race started!). I asked Rob, who has never done a race, if he fancied running around like a kid in the mud, in some stunning countryside. Of course he said yes!
I am so happy I made it over to the gorgeous Yorkshire Dales to run this epic 4.7 mile fell race. Hills, mud, bogs, runners, cyclists, what's not to love?! Huge thanks to Ted Mason, it was wonderful that Ted got to run this year, he even finished on the podium! A resounding win for the riders again this year.

I can't recommend this race highly enough. One of my absolute favourites. Get it in your diaries for next year and maybe I'll see you there! A charity fundraising race with the best cake around. It doesn't get much better than this and so much money raised for Fell Rescue, Manorlands and Burnsall School. Well done Ted Mason!
