We found a race where the minimum entry age was 10 years old and Poppy wanted us to run together. I packed a bag of drinks and snacks thinking that we would probably walk the hills but Poppy had other ideas!
This race was a week after the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon and my legs were tired so I was hanging on for the first few miles until Poppy was a bit less fresh. I was absolutely amazed by what Poppy was capable of as we always run slow and fun parkruns so this was the first time Poppy has really run seriously over distance. If she wants to race again next year then I may have to get somebody faster to run with her as she'll be a whole year faster!
Huge thanks to the Grassington Primary School PTA for putting on a fantastic race in such a beautiful place.
This was a race that I'll remember forever... That's my girl!
