It's that time of year again where Poppy and I head off on our family holiday but we try our best to incorporate a new parkrun, or parkrun country, along the way! This year I wanted to take Poppy scuba diving. I've not been scuba diving since before my dive buddy, my husband Ben, died in 2015. Now that Poppy is old enough for proper adventures then we set off for parkun Malaysia with a plan to seek out some scuba diving the week after we'd run parkrun.
It was tough running parkrun at 7:30am the day after arriving in Malaysia as we were jet-lagged and the temperature, even at 6am was insane! The course was utterly stunning though and the team were so super friendly. I can't recommend visiting this parkrun highly enough. What a fantastic way to start a holiday! We felt super lucky to have this incredible parkrun experience and to share it with so many other lovely people.
Huge thanks to the wonderful volunteer team for a brilliant event and for welcoming us so warmly. We hope we get the chance to revisit one day!
