I always love pacing races as it's such an honour to play a small part in people achieving their running and racing goals. Whether it's a PB, or just to get to the finish, I can think of no better way to spend the morning than to be out on a cold, sunny, winter's morning doing the sport that I love with other people that love it too.
This year's Abbey Dash was huge with around 10,000 places sold! It had a really big event feel and because there were so many people then we were set off in waves It was amazing to see the fast runners finishing just before we set off. It gave us all such a buzz! We carried that energy around with us for the whole 10km and finished with huge smiles on our faces.
Huge thanks to Nick at Northern Pacing Volunteers for all of the hard work he does to arrange all of the volunteer pacers for these events. Thanks also for the opportunity to pace Nick! I absolutely loved it, especially with the wonderful Eve as my pacing partner!
