The Golden Selection is a decent ship that has some good weapons. The red weapon fires straight ahead, but the Round Bits won't fire with it. The blue weapon fires golden bubbles that pop - it's my least favorite of the three. The yellow weapon fires beams from the top and bottom of the Force at a steep angle. While the Force is detached, it behaves and fires in the standard pattern. I was using standard Homing Missiles, which you can basically never go wrong with. Since the Round Bits don't fire with the red weapon, I used the Shadow Bits here to deal damage to the Bydo. They leave trails on movement and are decently powerful when used right. The Wave Cannon fires straight ahead, but if you hit the Force with the blast, it will diffuse into a bunch of bolts.
I like the music in stage 3.0, and I like this stage in general with its space and planetary background. I know a lot of people complained when the game released that this stage felt unfinished, but I always disagreed with that sentiment. As always, this is RTF2's big battleship stage. The pattern on R-Typer is different than lower difficulties, so do be careful when you fight it.
My original plan for the Golden Selection was to play stage Z1.0 with it, and I did, and it went well... until the boss kept consistently wrecking me. It was so vertical that I went with Cross the Rubicon instead, so the Force could home in on it. I'll talk more about that in stage Z1.0's video.
