Round 3 = Time for our obligatory backstory reveals! (most of them anyways)
Jesus christ this is so fucking late, it’s not even funny. Round 3 came out in NOVEMBER. Its MARCH. THIS WASNT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!!! I ended up getting really caught up with a lot of life, and not to mention that I went through a bit of a crossover burnout after October. It was a struggle my dudes. BUT. I kept my word. I didn’t drop out. Nope instead I asked for a lot of extensions and I managed to do it…somehow! God bless the judges for their INTENSE patience like y’all are the real heroes on this day. And a huge thank you to the contestants for having my back and supporting me the whole way through, you guys are the reason I never wanted to leave and stuck my guns.
As a side note, I had to cut so much shit. Shoutouts to SpaceMeta, AnneLabyrinth, Nana Wakagimi, and DreamingwithDragons for plotting with me, and I’m so sorry I had to cut some our scenes XD. PLEASE check out their rounds to see some genuinely amazing editing and characters, these guys rock.
Also special shoutout to AvatarAfrica for the scene with Alex (Meg)! We got our LC redemption wooo!!!
And a one more special shout out to my friend Stacy (TheNight130)!!! Thank you so much for helping me figure out the backstory with Percy and Oktai!
NOTES (PRESENT DAY):
-If you noticed in my last round, I paralleled Khensu’s reaction to Brianne’s betrayal with Oktai’s reaction to Percy’s betrayal. This made way for their conversation this round as Oktai’s empathy can sense that Khensu probably went through something similar as him, and it’s why he’s so willing to open up to him.
-Kat, in her efforts to protect Norbert, activates her powers in which can summon one’s personal demons. Unfortunately for literally the whole group, she summons *everyone’s* personal demons so now we gotta go into some suppressed trauma here folks!
-Noooo Diana and Oktai are not a couple nor are they being set up as one lol. While they are the first people they’ve found emotional intimacy with since the long period of time where they found themselves not trusting anyone, their relationship is solely platonic. (Also Oktai’s gay so it wouldn’t have worked out anyways XD)
NOTES (FLASHBACKS):
-Oktai was a fisherman when he was alive. He and his friend Celeste (Mulan) had a system where he’d catch the fish, and she’d deliver it to either the market or the city (where all the rich nobles live). The reason he has to deliver it this one time (in which that’s how he finds out about Percy) is because Celeste came down with the flu and anyone else would could assist her was either away or also sick.
-Oktai has always hated the rich, long before he met Percy. With him and Marva having to beg for scraps for so many years while the rich never bothered to give him any chances, he has a lot of resentment to the point where he wanted to be as far away from them as possible. That’s why he’s so mad when Celeste asks him to go to, essentially, the heart of the wealthy.
-Percy is your typical rich kid who didn’t want to be a rich kid. He was stuck in a loveless arranged marriage and ran away one night to just briefly escape from it, hence where he met Oktai. He didn’t want Oktai to treat him differently based on title alone, so he kept his noble life a secret. Making Oktai, effectively, the “other woman”.
- Just to be clear, Percy DID love Oktai, genuinely. But he dug himself a hole so deep in the lie that he was a peasant like Oktai and not someone of higher class, that he was afraid of what would happen if he told him the truth. Frankly, he lied to everyone in his noble life too, except for Marie (Kayley) who constantly had to cover him.
-I kept the same clips but changed the dialogue around of the confrontation scene in order to clue in the audience on their actual convo. I’ve purposely made it vague in the past as so to keep it hidden under wraps but here it is! In full daylight!
-There’s an argument to be made that this story has a lot of parallels with Nita’s backstory from TTWU. Admittedly part of my weariness with going with this story instead of my original concept (which was super heckin’ complicated XD) was because I could just…see the similarities. However, I went with it anyways because I felt it was different enough and gave way to more interesting questions than what TTWU initially had. AKA, my writing has improved a lot in six years, and I essentially wanted to execute a similar concept differently XD.

New MEP Part! This one coming from my recent watching of *a lot* of fantasy shows lol.
So this is for Pastard’s “Broke You First” MEP centered around an unstable relationship where person A keeps coming back even though person B wants to end it. These type of themes aren’t usually my scene, but I came up with a story that I liked so I thought I’d give it a shot!
STORY:
Hercules and Belle live in a fantastical world filled with magic and monsters and all the likes. Hercules was a hero, fighting things that threatened people and Belle was a simple healing mage. For years the two were in a relationship, both romantic and a partnership, where Belle would heal Hercules anything he got from a bad fight. The thing is these fights kept getting more frequent and more dangerous, and Belle’s magic began to grow weaker over time. Finally, she called it off and left him…but that didn’t stop Hercules from fighting, nor him breaking the habit of coming to her. Even when he’s on death’s door.")
