Finally got around to uploading this!
This is for Beth’s Returns of the Moon DEAF edit MEP, where people who were not players of the RP could have the ability to create their own Return characters and expand on their stories. However this also meant that us who did get in had the absolute perfect excuse to use our AU characters!!!
The ROTM server has a LOT of AUs. We have a doc, it is a dozen pages. That’s how many AUs we have. Its a little insane. But its also a lot of fun, and naturally we like to edit our AUs but don’t often get the best excuse to. This MEP had a lot of us running at the opportunity, myself included.
So, what’s going in these two AUs? Allow me to explain!
PART ONE - Another Life AU (Minerva):
Another Life AU is where all of us created a brand new Return character that would make up the main cast, and our current canon Return characters would be their guides (i.e. Instead of being Brianne, Alexandria, and the rest, it’s Geralt, Oktai, Diana and so on and so forth). The character I created for this AU is a young woman named Minerva, portrayed by Marina. Minerva is the daughter of rebellions, and decided to craft her own rebellion once she reached adulthood. However she got reckless and left many casualties in her wake, causing someone close to her (Shang) to murder her in order to prevent anymore damage. Her powers are life absorption, where she can drain the essence of anyone she touches. This character was a stone cold self righteous bitch, and it would’ve been really interesting to tackle a character like that in a long running RP! In any case the part was definitely fun too, especially getting to reedit the audition again!
PS: The characters seen when the moon glows are my fellow contestants’s AU characters! Marco (Tulio) belongs to Nana Wakagimi. Ginger (Madeline) belongs to QuickWhitStudios. And Maple (Eilowny) belongs to SpaceMeta!
PART TWO - NPC AU (Percy)
This one is pretty self explanatory: replace our characters with an NPC from their past to be the Returns. Of course I chose Percy, because who else? But I didn’t want to do the audition twice, so since not much changes in this AU outside the characters I decided to show the scene from R4 when Alex puts them all under illusions. I’ve had this particular idea for a while now, actually, regarding what Percy would’ve gone through. Because his powers are lie detection, I liked the idea of him being surrounded by the people in his life but all he can see of them is their lies. The power and illusion taunt him, forever seeing the lies of others as he lied to everyone in his life. This AU is my personal favorite, because getting to explore not just Percy as a Return but his relationship with other characters is super interesting to me! This is the one AU I never thought I’d have a good excuse to edit for and I’m thrilled that’s not the case anymore.
