Now you can buy strong metal ISOFIX universal brackets to fit ISOFIX child seats to an old car that didn't come with ISOFIX, such as this 2003 year Freelander. Useful when you have kids to transport. Use your own common sense to decide if this is for you and whether it is strong enough and safe enough as obviously it hasn't passed any official tests. Personally I think the metal is thick enough to be strong and safe enough, similar to a modern car. The extra tip/stage at the end makes the base super firmly fitted, probably more so than a modern car fitting.
The wind was blowing a lot while doing this video, which I did my best to filter out with software, but it does intrude now and again, so please forgive this, I hope it doesn’t distract you from the content.
