Here are some more useful tips on fixing electric gate problems. This time I do a permanent fix for the problem of water drainage from the motor box and a fix for worn motor splines where it connects to the link arm.

These electric gates were made by “Nice” model MEC1 and motor model ME3000. These fixes probably apply to most other electric gate models as well.
If you haven’t got a MIG welder and are considering getting one to do this job or many others (especially car welding or maybe making some ironwork like a fire surround e.g. youtu.be/Bv1yCyD1WGo ) then here are some links for products on Amazon:

It makes life a lot easier if you have an auto dimming welding helmet as well, I thoroughly recommend one, see:
