It should be a simple job to change the rear brake pads on the R55, R56 MINI from 2006. Two things slightly complicate it: the need for a caliper rewind tool and the need to change the wear censor.
Fortunately a cheap rewind tool does the job, as sold by :

For this mini year 2006 onwards model R55 or R56 these are the brake pads that I used by Mintex, part MDB2930:
On ebay UK: ebay.to/2GCN26D

And the wear sensor on ebay uk: ebay.to/2IICtlZ
Or ebay USA: ebay.to/2UUMP8O
You will need some copper grease:

And some thread locker (loctite 243) for the bolts:
