Complete restoration of a 30 year old petrol gas tank from a Jeep Wrangler YJ 1988. The gas tank was sandblasted from surface rust after removal of the old bitumen undercoat of asphalt paint using a heat gun and pure petrol. It was then primed with Rustoleum 90% zinc spray paint after a thin layer of Hammerite rust converter had been applied to remove any surface rust. The top coat was applied as a 2-component epoxy anti rust coating from Rustbuster's award winning EM121 Epoxy Mastic coat. The fuel pump level indicator was then tested and showed resistance corresponding to empty, half full and full tank; 0.44 - 44 and 88 ohm.
