Big "Bonk!!" sound when driving your Jeep Wrangler YJ 1988-1995 may relate to broken transmission support / mount as shown in this video. Instructions on how to change it is given, and what a new one looks like. The JEEP Wrangler YJ in the video is a Laredo from 1988. The new one shown is original OEM from Mopar but these ones can also be made in polyurethane, which is a synthetic rubber material that is normally a bit stiffer.
