The dimpled transmission pan holes put extra pressure on the gasket around the hole sides so when you try to torque it to specs, the gasket deforms and slides moves sideways. Trying to compensate for the deformed gasket with silicone or RTV is a dead end, since it only makes the gaskets of rubber slide even more easily.
