Lives saved from the egg industry 🐔 Last year, animal rescuers liberated 130 egg-laying hens from an Australian barn-laid egg farm.

Treated as mere commodities whose only value is their ability to lay eggs, these hens would have been slaughtered at only 18 months old, if they did not perish at the farm sooner 💔

These hens had lived their entire lives confined within the walls of the massive shed, alongside tens of thousands of other hens, under artificial lights and with minimal care or enrichment.

Now they finally get to spread their wings, feel the sunshine, roam freely and live a life free from exploitation. It is a life that every hen deserves, but very few get to have.

Thank you to the anonymous rescuers 🙏 #AnimalsAreNotProperty
