Today we want to introduce you to Blue, a capuchin monkey who was found tied up in someone's house. After being rescued by SINAC, Blue was brought to our center and is now safely with us, recovering well. He's a hopeful candidate for release, but here's where it gets tricky: it's extremely difficult to rehabilitate a solitary capuchin. These intelligent primates rely heavily on their social structures.
Our biggest goal for Blue is to see him thrive in the wild. That's why we're searching high and low for other rescue centers that already have capuchin troops in rehabilitation. Joining an established group would provide Blue with the vital social learning and support he needs to prepare for release. So far, we haven't found a match, but we're not giving up!
