Dream job?
This baby howler monkey is still so small she needs formula up to four times a day, building the strength she'll need for the next stage of her rehabilitation.
And yes, that stage involves daily leaf deliveries. 🌿
We gather fresh leaves from the forest so the young howlers in our care can practise eating the foods they'd find in the wild one day. Basically baby monkey meal prep, but with a much bigger purpose.
Some days it really does feel like the best job in the world.
But most of these monkeys are here for heartbreaking reasons: uninsulated power lines, dog attacks, vehicle collisions. Injured, orphaned, or simply too young to survive alone.
Every feed, every leaf, every small recovery is a step back toward the wild.
