This young monkey suffered an electrocution after coming into contact with an unsafe power line in Costa Rica. Their lifeless body was filmed on a clinic table - a stark, painful reminder of what outdated infrastructure, unregulated development and weak enforcement have cost our precious wildlife.
In 2024, the Costa Rican government introduced Executive Decree 44329 to tackle this crisis. But implementation has been far too slow. Every day of delay puts more monkeys, sloths and other innocent animals at risk of the same preventable suffering.
