A repairman who had gone to a vacant home on Cathie Drive in Houston to fix a leak was found dead inside the residence late Thursday night after family members reported him missing when he failed to return home. Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office were alerted after the victim's work truck was located at the property, and upon entering the house they discovered the 31-year-old man suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Investigators recovered shell casings at the scene and are working to identify a black sedan seen leaving the residence, which family members said did not belong to the homeowner's son who was supposed to meet the repairman there. Detectives are seeking a search warrant to process the scene and continue their investigation as they attempt to locate and speak with the son and determine exactly what happened inside the home.
