Late Thursday around 11pm in the 2500 block of Baldwin Springs in northwest Harris County, a 12-year-old girl called 911 after finding her mother unresponsive. Deputies and EMS arrived and discovered the adult woman deceased in one room and an adult male deceased in another, with the child unharmed and no one else inside the home. Investigators reported no signs of forced entry or evidence of anyone fleeing the scene, and recovered a weapon while noting the cause of death and identities have not yet been confirmed. Authorities are treating the case as an apparent murder-s****** involving a married or common-law couple, with the male believed to be the girl’s stepfather and the woman her biological mother, and say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
