From the 17th century to the present day, the paintings, drawings and etchings of Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn have fascinated and inspired artists and collectors alike; each new generation “rediscovering” the Dutch master of painting, printmaking and drawing.

In the first of a series of five videos, curators from the National Galleries of Scotland introduce Rembrandt, exploring his early career and the development of his signature handling of light and shade in his paintings.
