Realtoy Land Rover Discovery custom.

Realtoy did an exceptional job in creating their scale Land Rover Discovery Series II model. The casting is very good in itself, offering a lot of detailing opportunities. It came with several areas featuring trim when new and had a spare wheel mounted to the rear door. In addition it had an incredibly well moulded interior piece with a very accurate dash. The only things that let it down for me are the wheels.

I look to put that right with a set of Creative One64 Ford F-150 SVT wheels which match the Disco's alloys surprisingly well. I then repaint the entire body and interior, the body receiving a lighter metallic green shade which would should up the extensive black detailing it received to all of the exterior plastics.

The Series II Discovery was a clear evolution of the original 1989 car. Despite the lack of exterior changes, new owners BMW assured that there were in fact 720 differences between the generations. It was a bit longer and less utilitarian than it's predecessor but still maintained quite a rugged look. Only in later generations would the Discovery receive further gentrification. This was still a very capable off roader.
