On the first Saturday of November 2022, 425 made the last full round trip from Outer Station to Jim Thorpe and back before being taken out of service for the 1472 day inspection. When 425 will be back in service remains unknown, but no doubt the Reading & Northern will take great care and pride with the upkeep.
Late season fall foliage still clings to the hillsides as we make the most of the single day chase up the R&N Mainline and back. The diesels are there to assist with dynamic breaks and extra adhesion against wheel slip from leaves on the rails.

October 24, 2018: Nittany & Bald Eagle train NBER3 heads north through the center of Washington Avenue in Tyrone, PA with LVRR GP20s 9050 and 9052 bracketing NSHR GP38 2004. Tyrone is known among regional railfans as a busy street running location, but more so famous for hosting scenes from the movie Unstoppable filmed in 2009. In addition to the NBER local, coal trains off of Norfolk Southern travel this route.")

Upon arrival to Leaman Place, 475 picks up a loaded boxcar and switches the two empties. Additional run-around moves had to be made because of the coach.
Strasburg Railroad began revenue freight operations in 2013, interchanging cars with Norfolk Southern via the Amtrak Keystone Corridor. The cars are then stored at the yard near the museum, where they are transloaded.
