A collection of some of my favorite winter snow scenes from over the years (2009-2022), several of which have never been seen before on this channel, others are dug up and remastered from older videos.
While winter railfanning is difficult (I got stuck for an hour on my way home after the first scene because it was snowing 3" per hour and the road become invisible in the short time I was out after the snow plot) it is my second favorite season after fall and makes for some very rewarding videos. Lucky for you, these are enjoyable in the comfort of your own home!

In the heart of Pennsylvania anthracite country exists a regional railroad whose miles are made of famous fallen flags, including the Reading Company; Lehigh Valley; and Central Railroad of New Jersey, stretching from Reading, over the Blue Mountains, and northward above the Poconos. A popular commodity on the aptly-named Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad continues to be anthracite coal, which is shipped far and wide across the country and abroad. But there is another popular coal burning attraction in this area: Reading & Northern #425, a 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive. The former GM&N Baldwin built in 1928 is the main show every October during the Fall Foliage trips. Although a warm and unusually wet season left the autumn colors abysmal at best, the sounds come alive in the hills and across the valleys between Reading and Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania as the gutsy Pacific puts on a show. Join Central Penn Rail Productions on this journey chasing R&N 425 on both weekends, featuring a Reading 6 Chime whistle first, and a CB&Q 3 Chime on the second.
