The Chevin Chase is a popular fixture in the Yorkshire racing scene. Epic views, lots of mud, an impressive field of runners, awesome fancy dress, and being on Boxing Day, are just some factors that make this race amazing. I decided to enter myself, my partner Al, and his 82 year old dad 'Grandad Norman' (who is a great runner, eats raw and is impressively fit for his age!) into this race as a Christmas present to us all. After all, the best gifts are experiences that we can share together, so this seemed perfect!
Have a watch and see for yourself - there's nothing I'd rather be doing on Boxing Day. The Chevin Chase is usually difficult to enter as it sells out so quickly, but as they released an additional 600 places then this year was much better. Entries were available for a few weeks, removing the stress of entering which was brilliant.
Huge thanks to Airecentre Pacers for an incredible race and to Al (@BUSHMANandBLUE) for the footage of Grandad Norman and his awesome run. If you've not checked out Al's channel then I highly recommend giving it a watch. He gets out on some impressive adventures and films it all beautifully.
