This is a quick lesson to learn Achille Marozzo's Primo Assalto for the Two-handed Sword - 1. Part #Shorts

Marozzo was an italian master of the 16th century, writing down his techniques in his book "Opera Nova". I use the translation by Jherek Swanger (link below). Marozzo's Two-Handed Sword (= spada a due mani) might also be known as a Spadone, Montante , greatsword or Schlachtschwert. These are pretty much regional terms for the same weapon. You are free to call it a longsword as well. ;)
HEMA (historical european martial arts) or historical fencing has the aim to reconstruct forgotten fighting techniques, learn how they (mostly knights) really fought back then in medieval and renaissance times. Thus, this video represents my current interpretation of Marozzo's techniques - especially the falso impuntato. Feel free to discuss it with me in the comments section :)
