I've been periodically doing attempts at getting the phase 3 uppercut on Mike Tyson, which is a very luck reliant fight. I had some bad luck earlier today on Tyson, so for laughs, I put in the Mr. Dream version of Punch Out, and got a 0:53 phase 1 within 6 minutes of trying LOL.
This is still behind my Tyson PB of 2:05.82, but I figured since I never play this version, it'd be fine to upload, since this is technically my "Mr. Dream PB" even though it's considered equivalent to the Tyson fight. Besides, this is one of the only Punch Out fights in the series I've never uploaded, so I figured this would be fine for now.
This fight required me hitting 22 frame perfect punches, but I also implemented ducks in phase 1 in order to attempt to get Dream to throw an uppercut in the 3rd phase. I got bad luck in phase 2 to where that didn't really pan out, and got a very weird phase 3 pattern where Dream alternated punches every time. I got some bad delays between some of them, which is the main difference between this fight and the 2:05.82 on Tyson.

Heres a far more interesting upload for this game compared to my recent ones, because Ive finally landed a sub 40 second time on Honda 2! I took a huge break from this fight because I just wasnt feeling good about my execution or consistency on it back when I did attempts in April 2020. I recently came back to this fight because Tysons luck has been super awful for me, and this fight ended up being appealing for being a password character and relatively favorable odds for this games luck standards.
I did this offline, as I was actually intending to sleep earlier than usual last night, but it didnt work out so well, so I ended up doing Honda 2 attempts until I felt tired, but I unexpectedly got a PB on Honda 2 like 25 minutes in! This fight is extremely complicated and brutally difficult. Unlike the strategy that I used for my 40.00, this is the unadulterated, unfiltered TAS strategy on this fight.
For the entirety of the first phase of the fight, you CANNOT lose more than 1 frame across the ENTIRE knockdown. If you lose 2 or more frames collectively throughout the first knockdown, then Honda will block your face jab at the start of phase 2.
This fight heavily uses two techniques, one of which is called a dizzy destroyer, which is a 2 punch combo that involves exploiting Honda 2 & Machos guard in a very specific way. Honda 2 follows your gloves when you tap up, which leaves him open for a gut punch, then you are capable of holding up and punch for an immediate jab after, which will successfully land only on the condition that you let go of up while Macs punch animation is going off, but before the punch actually connects.
The second technique is called a max damage uppercut. This is where you throw a star punch and tap up in a special way in the Honda 2 & Macho fights where the opponent is busy trying to follow your guard, but cannot block their face in time before the uppercut lands, which results in dealing more damage than usual, as well as preventing them from dodging the uppercut outright.
For Honda 2 in particular, there is an addendum to this, because Honda 2s max damage uppercut has a sizable window where you can throw the star punch, but there is a single frame window thats several frames before that sizable window where you can still have the max damage uppercut work. I need to go for specifically these frame perfect max damage uppercuts.
Phew, lets finally talk about the fight itself. The fight opens with 2 dizzy destroyer combos, which is the fastest way to land 4 successful hits, which will always result in your first guaranteed star in this fight. Immediately throw a frame perfect max damage uppercut, followed by another dizzy destroyer to get 2 more stars (1st one is 50% likely, the 2nd is guaranteed), then hold up while Honda 2 is recovering from the previous star punch, and as soon as you see Hondas sprite fully centered while he starts to do his eyebrow pattern, throw a star and IMMEDIATELY let go of up. If youre reasonably fast, this star should deal max damage as he attempts to throw a punch, and you should be able to knock him down at 23 seconds with a buffered jab.
The start of phase 2 is just holding up + punch, then letting go of up as soon as Macs punch animation starts. If and only if you are on TAS pace, this punch will land and you will get a guaranteed star. From here, throw a frame perfect max damage uppercut, then follow it up with another dizzy destroyer combo, then throwing another frame perfect max damage star for a knockdown at 36 seconds. For this to work, you NEED the good health refill (50% likely) and the lucky star on the final face jab (also 50% likely). This puts the total odds of this fight to 1/8 likely.
Phase 3 consists of landing the final star punch for an instant knockdown since Honda got up on a 1 count. When throwing the star, you need to do the max damage input, and you can tell if its perfect if Honda lowers his guard near the very end of the star punch.
Compared to McHazards TAS, I lost 1 frame on the 2nd dizzy destroyer in phase 1, and 1 frame on the dizzy destroyer in phase 2; everything else in the fight was frame perfect. I am currently 1 frame away from the 39.97 world record, currently held by Summoningsalt and Jlet. Hopefully Ill get more 39s soon and finally get this fight done once and for all.

This was a flash game put out by Dannon as an advertisement for their Frusion smoothies quite a few years back. Needless to say, this is one of the greatest advertisements ever and I wish more ads were in the form of Punch Out games lol
This time, I decided to do a real time speedrun of the game, where I start timing on the frame I see the title screen go away, and end time on the frame the referee says TKO on Papi. With this timing scheme, I just barely get a sub 2 minute time. The strategies are the same, however the referee counts now matter. The first count can range anywhere from 4-6, and the 2nd count can be anywhere from 7-9.
My fight counts were 5-7 for Moe, 5-7 for Dave, and 4-9 for Papi. This means I got the 5th best possible time loss from ref counts out of 13 possible combinations, which is slightly above average luck. I also made it a point to match the in-game time of 1:14 for this run, similar to the previous video I uploaded. I also mash through the title screen, controls, and between fight screens as fast as possible, which makes it basically impossible to read any of those screens unless you pause precisely on them, or go frame by frame.
As far as mechanics go, all opponents have guards similar to Mike Tysons Punch Out and Super Punch Out, however, their guard alternates high and low on their own without being possible to manipulate. This guard shifting will also carry over to subsequent phases, which is important to always keep track of so you can hit opponents as fast as possible. You also get Frusionators (aka star punches) from landing 3 consecutive punches in a short period of time.
Its also worth noting that unlike any other Punch Out games, buffering jabs or hooks after youve hit an opponent once is VERY BAD because as an opponent is reeling from a previous punch, they have some frames where theyre intangible, so buffering a subsequent punch will miss outright, therefore every punch aside the first one in each phase must be timed carefully.
Lets get into the fights...
Ray Zinbran (10 seconds) - This fight shows off the standard 10 second knockdown that will be a key part of every fight from this point forward. If possible, its faster to use a Frusionator as one of your 3 required punches in order to get a second Frusionator.
Moe Finntop (20 seconds) - The first phase is the exact same strategy as Ray Zinbran,, but if you are very close to frame perfect, Moes guard will be in the wrong spot to start the next phase, so keep that in mind. Start phase 2 with 2 low punches with a high punch to get a Frusionator, then a jab with 2 low punches to get a 2nd Frusionator, the let a Frusionator rip. Now for the phase 3 Frusionator, you cant buffer this, you actually have to time it exactly as Moe is fully centered to finish him off.
Dave A sausage, egg & cheese sandwich Jenkins (24 seconds) - This is the hardest fight in the game, and by far has the most strict execution to get his goal time. Starting with the standard 10 second knockdown will reveal that Dave has way more HP than anyone else, so instead of throwing the 2nd Frusionator, throw 2 hooks into a jab to collect another Frusionator, then send him to the mat with one. If you are too fast on the first 6 punches, your 7th will miss with this strategy, so be very mindful of that. For phase 2, throw 2 low punches into 2 supers and you should take him down a 2nd time. Phase 3 is just 2 jabs into 1 hook, and a Frusionator to hopefully finish him at 1:36 left on the clock.
Papi C. Debagel - Papis guard is way faster, so the 10 second knockdown needs to be adjusted for it, but itll still work since his HP is low like the first 2 fights. Start with 2 jabs into low to get the first Frusionator, then do the EXACT same sequence to get the 2nd Frusionator, then throw one for the 10 second knockdown. Similar to Moe, you want 2 Frusionators immediately, then throw one to send him to the mat. After timing the phase 3 Frusionator, hell be down for the TKO at 1:40.

This is a tool assisted speedrun. To clarify, this is not a live run done on an actual console like I usually upload; this is a TAS (tool assisted speedrun), which is a run done on emulator where you do inputs frame by frame, effectively trying to achieve a theoretical best possible time. You can pretty much have your character do everything frame perfectly, and manipulate luck events to be perfect in every scenario through your inputs. This is *not* a real record, only a demonstration.
I was messing around with a strategy that McHazard told me a while back, but couldnt remember all of the ins and outs of it, but then I randomly threw an extra face punch after the first one at 30 seconds on the ingame timer, and to my shock, Bull took the punch and the 2 uppercuts after didnt hit his rolling jabs. This effectively eliminates the hardest punch in the fight, and makes the limiting factor the sheer amount of luck.
As far as I can tell, I think this needs to be done off of a 19 second first phase, because I think even high 18 is too fast for weird reasons. The right gut punch is to cancel his next attack, and the star punch after needs you to press up and start within a specific 4 frame window near the middle of the uppercut. After that, you should be able to just buffer 2 consecutive face punches with zero delay. It seems like this second face jab is dependent on your punch landing as the timer barely ticks over to 30. If its anywhere other than there, then it will not go through.
The rest of the fight is pretty self explanatory. The luck for this fight is still really really bad, but now at least the worst aspect of the execution is now mitigated. Thanks to McHazard for breaking down some of the confusing parts of this for me. And thanks for watching!")

Shoutouts to Mysteryman and McHazard for this adjustment. So this improvement to the 1:32.79 came about in a pretty peculiar way. McHazard had offhandedly mentioned at some point that it might actually save a fractional amount of time to *waste* frames intentionally during a stun in order to get to the 1:35 mark with a very slightly better remainder. The reason this matters, is that none of the inputs in this fight matter until the 1:35 mark on the fight timer (youtube timestamp is ~1:00). You want to get to a specific spot in Bears attack script at that *exact* frame, because Bear will decide what type of attacks he does depending on what whole second the in-game timer is. In this run, if I were to get to that spot 1 frame earlier, Bear would throw a delayed hook with the squirrel on his head and ruin the fight.
Stuns in this game will increment the timer at 25% speed compared to the clock moving at the fastest possible speed (when the opponent isnt stunned basically). An unstunned frame is 0.06 seconds on the ingame timer, while a stunned frame is 0.015 seconds. So, the idea is that since the normal strategy gets to the 1:35 mark with an exact time of 1:24.043293, we could waste time in increments of 0.015 at one of the triple star punches in order to cross over to the 1:24 mark with a time closer to 1:24.00.
Mysteryman forgot about this comment, until yesterday, where he checked it and realized it actually does save time. Theoretically, it is possible to get a 1:32.75, but the issue is that something significant would have to change in this fight with the way things line up currently. For now, it seems a 1:32.76 is the best confirmable possible time given the current constraints of this fight.
Lets get into the fight. Every buffer in phase 1 is frame perfect to make sure my pace is sufficiently good for reaching the 1:35 mark. First buffer is 1 dodge, 2 quick dodges, and jab. Second buffer is simply 4 full dodges into jab. Third buffer is 2 dodges, 1 punch, dodge, quick dodge, jab, and triple star punch. My approach for the new adjustment here is that I attempt to throw the triple star punch *two* frames later in order to get the clock to be at the right spot. If I see Mac pull back his hand instantly, I will know that I did my triple star too early by accidentally buffering it, so Ill attempt it again on the phase 2 triple star.
My phase 2 buffers are intentionally *lazy* so Im wasting an amount of time such that my average counter timing makes it really likely for me to get to the correct frame I need to be at. I did change the buffer for the Fooled ya counter, but its still 3 frames from perfect. Really just did this to kind of differentiate this fight from the previous one I uploaded, but it ultimately doesnt matter.
Phase 3 is the important part. You need to counter the first hug, then cancel the 2nd one, counter the Catch & Release hug, then do a centering hook. This centering hook dictates your entire pace, because the very next attack is going to be the pivotal attack at 1:35. You can elect to do this centering hook sooner if you feel your manual counters up until this point have been bad, or you can do the hook later if you feel all your manual counters have been really tight. This is hard to really judge accurately in the moment sometimes, so this really comes down to judgement calls to increase your odds of success.
After that centering hook, Ive found a frame perfect buffer to always counter his next hook (2 dodges, then right jab, left jab). And right here is the only *mandatory* frame perfect punch aside from the weird centering hook if youre going for a 1:32.79, which is dodging his hook, stunning him, and throwing the final triple star punch. My pseudo buffer for this final attack is that Ill wait until I hear Bears footsteps hit the ground, then do 2 dodges. It works really really well in my opinion.
Anyways, thats it for this fight! This one took me slightly longer to do than the previous TD Bear fight, about an hour and a half of attempts this time to just get used to the new delayed punch. Hopefully well see a solution to make 1:32.75 a real time for TD Bear in the future.

Ive been intermittently throwing attempts at Tyson over the past year, with struggles all along the way, but during the last couple of months, Ive been on fire with my Tyson execution. I really truly feel like Ive gotten to the point where I now match my Tyson consistency that I had before the stroke, and this fight is the hard, confirmable proof that were so back.
The exact time for this fight is a 2:05.82 on the middle frame of the .82 increment, according to the Tyson Finder spreadsheet created by Omnigamer, which is a 100% accurate reading since I record my console footage at the exact NES framerate of 60.09 FPS. This is completely identical to my original 2:05.82 PB that I set 5+ years ago to the frame, and the second time Ive ever gotten a 2:05. Despite the difficulty of this fight, its actually pretty simple to explain. To deal maximum damage on Tyson in the uppercut phase, you need to mirror what side he throws his punch on when you throw a jab to stun him. Each time you do this, it deals 5 damage to his 96HP health bar, as opposed to 1 damage if you stunned him with the opposite fist. The 2nd punch for each of these also needs to be delayed to the very last frame of the stun. If you land it, itll also deal 5 damage, otherwise youll be blocked or deal 1 damage. Phase 1 requires you to hit 9 out of 10 of these, while getting decent enough luck to get past phase 1 at 56 seconds or below (or below 1:00 if you just care about him throwing 6 uppercuts in phase 2). This run got a 55, which is acceptable, but I need decent luck in phase 2 as well.
Phase 2 is pretty much the same as phase 1, except you wont see the 8 second delay from Tyson. You only have to hit 5 of 6 frame perfect punches here, due to his 56HP health refill, which he gets if you have full health when hes knocked down. For being in contention of the best non-phase-3-uppercut time, you need Tyson down by 1:28 or earlier. I thankfully only got 1 delay, which let me get to the end of phase 2 fast enough to where Tyson will just stand there for a couple of frames in phase 3 before he naturally transitions to throwing hooks, meaning I got there just in time to not lose any unnecessary frames.
Phase 3 starts with Tyson going into his hook phase at 1:30, and you need to hit 8 hooks frame perfectly in order to get a perfectly executed fight. Since I start the phase at 1:28, I cannot safely do the buffer strategy to hit his first hook frame perfectly, so I am forced to hit it manually instead.
His health refill is 40HP this time, and dodging/punching will get you 2 damage per punch, whereas if you wait until the very end of Tysons hook, and punch on the very last frame, youll land 1 punch that deals 5 damage. As long as you get to the start of this phase at an early enough time, your final time is completely dictated by what pattern you get from Tyson, with the very best phase 3 pattern netting you a 2:05.25. This phase 3 pattern, plus any frames lost against a 1:28 phase 2, are the only differences between this fight, and my original PB of 2:05.82 on Tyson from 2019, and this fight loses frames on neither.
I still wanted to upload this since this is now my best recorded Tyson fight with my new RGB setup, as well as my true PB this time! I put a great deal of effort in making sure that my captures off of original hardware are as clean as possible these days, which is a great improvement over my original 2:05.82s video quality. I also had a weirdly horrible time getting this recording out of my capture PC, because when I plugged my portable hard drive into a USB port to back the file up and get it ready for processing for youtube, the entire PC suddenly shut down while refusing to boot again, and the hard drive wouldnt be recognized by the PC at all, which really really scared me. I had tried for hours to get it to boot or recognize the drive, and ended up basically thinking my entire drive was wiped. I tried again today and finally got some life out of it, so I backed up the entire drive, replaced the SATA cable, and hopefully that should solve my issues?

Hoo boy, what a complicated fight this is. This ties the WR that Pottoww set several months ago to the frame, and is based off of the new strategy that Mysteryman found a while back.
I got EXTREMELY lucky in that I skipped straight to the WR time when my PB was still a 42.46. I wasnt nervous on this attempt until I got to the buffer for the final counter that I found the other day, and thankfully got the ideal luck for it to land so I didnt have any chance to mess it up, haha.
A couple of key components in this fight to keep in mind...
When you throw a hook as some of his attacks start up, he is scripted to disappear and duck down to a certain side to counter attack you. However, these attacks will have a counter window to get a star off of, meaning well be doing this *a lot* to deal damage fast.
Secondly, Great Tiger is one of the few fights in this game where you can manipulate the actual attacks he throws. With those ducks that Tiger does in retaliation to your punches, he can duck to the left or the right, and the window for getting a star off the duck to your right is MUCH faster than the alternative. Thankfully, we have some control over what direction most of these ducks come out on, since the game happens to determine this on an even/odd system in regards to how many punches you have thrown in the fight so far. This is why with the introduction of buffer strategies for the magic knockdowns, that I whiff that one punch in phase 1 after countering.
Lets get into the fight itself.
I start by throwing a left hook when the timer reaches 2:58, then buffer a right hook and do a delayed star punch such that he just barely starts his next attack so you skip it. Then counter with a right jab to gather a star, and whiff one punch to manipulate his pattern later on. From here, you need to throw a right hook so he appears into your punch, then buffer left hook and right hook to gather another star, then throw a left hook as he appears, then do right hook into a DELAYED left hook to gather your 3rd star. With this, you just need to throw one more set of hooks into him as he appears, then hell go into his magic rush attack. You can buffer 3 ducks into 4 alternating hooks starting with your left hand to hit him on the first frame every time.
Phase 2 involves just unleashing the 3 star punch as soon as possible (I just mashed here), and then throwing a punch to make him disappear and duck to the left, to which a delayed hook to gather a star and throw it will send him to the mat for a second time.
Phase 3 starts with a right hook (I also just mashed here), with a left hook buffered after to pick up a star, then wait a bit so that my next hook will make him disappear and duck to the right, then buffer a right hook to pick up a 2nd star. From there, I delay very slightly until I see Great Tiger disappear, then I throw my 2 star punch such that it cancels his next attack. I then do a duck as soon as the *woosh* noise happens as a psuedo buffer to counter him with a right hook as the duck ends. I do one final delayed star punch that intentionally misses, which cancels his last move and goes straight into a 2nd magic rush attack. Once that star punch misses, you want to do 7 ducks to buffer a left hook to counter Tiger on the first frame possible if he stops on the left side. If he doesnt stop on the left side, you NEED to stop the buffer and counter the rush attack manually on the right side with a right hook.
Im not sure if Ill revisit this fight any time soon after this. I feel like I skipped a huge grind by going straight into the 42.1X range without a horrible long struggle like Pottoww, did. Ill probably come back to this eventually when its inevitably beaten though.

This run was done on an original Spanish Super Nintendo cartridge of Super Punch-Out, as well as an original PAL Super Nintendo 1chip console that was recapped and modded with the Borti RGB amp.
The PAL version of Aran Ryan is effectively a carbon copy of the NTSC version of the fight aside from one of the buffer strategies, and one less random event that you have to contend with. Interestingly though, he ends up being faster on the NTSC version by 0.01, even though typically we see the opposite happen between PAL and NTSC strategies that are the same. Aran Ryan in this game has a couple of unique qualities to him. Aran takes barely any damage from all of your normal punches, so hes hyper resistant to everything aside from Supers. To illustrate this, all of your normals (left/right jab and left/right body blow) all do only a measly 2 damage each, with Arans full health bar being 80HP total. Compare that to Gabby Jay, where left jab deals 4 damage, right jab deals 5 damage, left gut does 3 damage, and right gut deals 4 damage. Effectively, your damage output on average is cut *in half* compared to Gabby.
However, if you throw a low super at Gabby, it deals 10 damage, and an uppercut landed on Gabby deals 17 damage, which is pretty solid damage. If you land a low super on Aran, it deals *20* damage, and an uppercut deals *23* damage, which is a *massive* increase in damage output, even compared to the weakest boxer in the game!
This fight is designed this way in order to make sure that youre skillful enough to maintain and effectively use your super meter to the fullest. If you are having trouble doing that in general, then youre going to be stuck on this fight until you pass that skill check and are reasonably capable of putting up a good offense with those supers.
Despite Arans ridiculous defense against normal punches, he ends up being a really simple and straightforward fight to get the record on, with barely any randomness, and only really 2 things that you need to time perfectly in order to master this strategy.
Start the fight by holding Up for the first frame of the fight to manipulate Arans gloves to be up, and then letting go and pressing Y to do a left handed gut punch. From here, buffer another left gut punch, then buffer a right jab into a left jab to intercept Arans next 2 attacks. Aran will then leap to the left side of the ring, and youll need to time a left jab as quickly as you possibly can. I try to time this jab around when I see the start of Arans leap animation. The dizzy meter is somewhat tight, with you needing to hit this jab within a 4 frame window in order for Aran to successfully go into dizzy status.
Once you land that timed jab, then buffer 2 more left gut punches to send Aran reeling to the side in dizzy status. From there, you want to buffer a left gut punch, into a right gut punch, into a low super to knock him down, which is actually identical to the buffer used in the NTSC version of the fight interestingly enough.
Once Aran gets up, just hold A to buffer a low super to come out on the first frame. On NTSC, Aran will take this super punch 5/8s of the time, but oddly, the speed difference between the two versions actually makes this punch guaranteed to land in the PAL version. Once the super lands, Aran will reel backward and attempt to grab you, but can do 2 different delays before actually committing to it, and has a 50% chance of doing either one, making this the only luck event in this version of the fight.
In order to hit the faster of the two delays with your super, you can buffer a left gut punch into a quick dodge thats cancelled with a low super, which is the only strategy difference in this fight compared to NTSC (the buffer for NTSC is a left jab into a quick duck). This will ensure that you hit Aran with your low super on the first possible frame if he throws out the fastest delay.

Doc Louiss Punch-Out was an exclusive game rewarded to those in 2009 who had enough Club Nintendo points to receive Platinum status for the year. It was also rewarded at the end of Club Nintendos lifespan among a huge list of several other games as a means to spend any lingering points you may still have. This was played on my legitimate copy from 2009, which was transferred over to my Wii U, making recording HDMI footage of this game possible for me.
This is the 2nd of 3 fights you will encounter in this short DLC-like game. This run also happens to finally match the TAS time, which is the best theoretical possible time that you can get on this fight! The old record was 1 frame away, so Im glad to have finally improved it to its optimal time!
Each fight has its own rules in regards to Doc Louiss guard. In this particular fight, Doc will let one punch through his guard for every 7 punches that Mac throws, even if those punches are blocked of whiffed! This is the main reason you see me constantly throwing punches randomly, even if they are not part of buffer strategies!
Start off the fight by throwing 3 blocked punches, then countering his Come On uppercut with a left jab. Youll need to whiff 2 punches somewhere here, so Ive chosen to throw them when he gets to The in Thats THE one I taught you which makes for a great cue in buffering a 3rd punch to hit Doc as hes fully centered. You need this punch to land as Doc is completely idle, which is a 3 frame window before he starts his next attack. If youve done everything correctly, it will go through Docs guard and hit him.
Next, counter Docs Dodge uppercut, then whiff 2 punches and throw a double star punch here. We need to throw this now because if Docs HP goes too much lower, hell eat a chocolate bar and fully regenerate his health bar. From here, whiff 1 punch and throw a punch as Doc walks in to center him a little bit sooner, which starts his next attack sooner.
Now heres the complicated part of the fight. From that blocked punch, you need to buffer a second punch (which will go through his guard), then do a slightly delayed right jab which will whiff as he winds up for his Duck this one hook. If youve whiffed the punch early enough, you will have enough time to counter his hook as soon as possible. Once you do that, you can perform a frame perfect buffer I found which involves throwing a right punch as Mac is recovering from countering Doc (cannot start the buffer too early or too late, otherwise the buffer fails), then throwing alternating punches until Doc blocks a punch and gets centered early.
You should be able to buffer another punch to go through Docs guard, and throw a slightly delayed gut punch to counter his Keep low attack early. Throwing a double star as he walks in will skip his chocolate bar and finish the fight.
Ill probably be revisiting the other two Doc fights, as well as doing full runs of Docs Punch Out (which is all 3 fights in a row).

This run was done on an original Spanish Super Nintendo cartridge of Super Punch-Out, as well as an original PAL Super Nintendo 1chip console that was recapped and modded with the Borti RGB amp.
PAL Piston Hurricane is an interesting anomaly in that its the only fight in the PAL version of Super Punch Out where the best possible time actually exactly matches its NTSC counterpart! This is rare mostly because the timers between NTSC and PAL have different possible timer values because one version runs at 60 frames a second, and the other runs at 50, yet every second needs to be a real time second on the in-game timer.

Normally, this is a fight that is designed to teach you the importance of blocking high and low for when he attempts to hit you with his Hurricane rush attack consisting of alternating jabs and hooks, however for the speedrun, he gets to show off none of this.
Start by not pressing anything for the first frame of the fight, then for the second frame, hold the input for a left jab. Follow that up with 2 more buffered jabs, then youll need to *delay* a left body blow here. For this strategy to actually get Piston dizzy, you need this delayed punch to either be the earliest frame where he doesnt block, or one frame later than that. If you punch later than that 2 frame window, then this strategy will *not* work at all, but if you want to match the TAS time, you need to hit it on the earliest frame.
After the delayed hit, just buffer another left jab, followed by a left gut punch, and another left jab to get him dizzy. For the dizzy knockdown, a jab into quick dodge buffer sets up a low super punch perfectly for an optimal super knockdown. From here, youre home free to just hold the super punch button and itll just land instantly and KO him in phase 2!
Theres really not a lot to this fight, even on the PAL version. It has one tricky punch for the TAS strategy, but aside from that, its about as basic as it gets.
