Beginner's video. If the probe is properly compensated the display will show a perfect square wave. A falsely compensated probe would introduce distortion; that is, the square wave would no longer look right. My Tek 2235 scope also has a front-panel calibration jack which I could have used, instead of the HP3325A function generator. Also shown is over-compensation and under-compensation.
