Unit had problem of fast-forward and rewind being very sluggish. Idler wheel rubber surface was found to be glazed over. I used 150 grit sandpaper to remove the glaze. Unit now worked much better. The most difficult part was removing the small clear plastic washer holding the idler wheel in place. Care must be taken not to lose this. In theory, another washer could probably made out of clear plastic blister packaging.
