The Tenma 72-540 seems to be a clone of the Sansei 6100. The Tenma units are often for sale on eBay. So are other signal injectors/tracers by various different companies.
The Sansei unit case is made of plastic with an aluminum front plate. As a power source either a 9V battery can be used or it can be powered by an external dc source.
The advantage of this unit (as compared to some other units) is that it has both a VU meter and an internal speaker. Also, the amplitude of the input signal can be varied as can the amplitude of the output signal. Furthermore, it can handle both AF and RF (AM) signals. It can also be used as a preamplifer and hooked up directly to an external speaker.
