This is a short taken from "Avoid the 'Optimal' Trap", a longer video discussing the tendency to approach programming with the goal of optimizing all of the training variables without giving any thought to sustainability. A suboptimal program that is sustained will easily outperform the best program ever written if it cannot be done consistently and over a long period of time. My main message here... don't throw out what we know about what makes training effective; yes you need sufficient volume with a good exercise selection and excellent technique, but all of this is only relevant if the program is sustainable. So, prioritize that!
