PLEASE READ: (lyrics & dialogue below)- Watch in HD for best experience. :) by request for Allison Sharp – a very cool song- I first heard it on Pretty Little Liars, and thought then I might do it to some fandom – when I got the request, it was a done deal. ;-) Mostly told in Christine’s Pov, a little in Erik’s. Christine wants the Phantom to come out of hiding, and when he finally does, she wants to be with him for always. But his idea of that and “saving” her involves people getting hurt- and C doesn’t want that. She is conflicted; when she’s away from him, she remembers what put distance between them. She reaches a decision – wanting to be his, knowing there’s no going back, even when he’s the one that now needs saving – the end of video mirrors the beginning, showing that he’s no longer invisible to her (in hiding) but now she has entered his world (and the song really does cut off like that). Symbolism- here’s a bit- the blue electric currents of light, in border and flashes, signify their bond/passion. The feathery effect shown swirling around their hands that are linked- they are bound together as one – “Go on break the glass” – and him breaking it- I used the old legend that to break a mirror lets out the spirit of the one trapped inside (bit of trivia- in history mirrors were covered after a death in the family, especially if the body remained in the house, for fear that the spirit of the dead would capture one’s soul in the reflection – but in my video, for these lyrics it is symbolic, to show her soul is trapped and only he can free her, to be all she is meant to be, as she wishes (she’s not literally dead. ;-)). Where the lyrics state she’s sick- it’s heartsick (from wishing he’d come out of hiding and be with her). Rest of symbolism take as you will- no more room to write.
