Walking Well Excerpt from Class 4 Segment 2: Posterior Leg Lifts with Coregeous Ball

This exercise strengthens the posterior (back) legs, targeting the hamstrings and glutes muscles which are needed to create a strong push off when walking. Placing the Coregeous Ball between your ankles keeps your legs from splaying out when you lift and activates the inner thighs. Start by dorsiflexing (lift your toes towards the ceiling ) your feet and bending your knees. Next, try lifting your leg without changing the orientation of your spine (arching your back) or bending your knees. This exercise builds a strong back leg and translates into a smoother push off while walking.
