Is PLA Pro really tougher than standard PLA, or is it mostly marketing? In this video, I test the mechanical properties of Polymaker PLA Pro and compare the results with regular PLA and other materials. I focus on toughness, layer adhesion, stiffness, impact resistance, creep resistance, temperature performance, and more to see if this filament really offers something extra.
I tested 5 different colors of Polymaker PLA Pro to see whether color has an influence on layer adhesion. For all five colors, I performed two layer adhesion tests, while the gray and black variants received full mechanical testing, including tensile, shear, torsion, creep, bending, impact, and temperature resistance tests.
As always, I used the same testing methodology as in my earlier filament reviews, making it easier to compare the results with standard PLA, ABS, PETG, and many other materials already tested on the channel.
