In this video our host Jessica Wright learns about plants that repel mosquitoes from our gardening expert Niki Jabbour

Plants that repel mosquitoes:

Plants with citrusy smells or oils in their leaves repel mosquitos.

Place these plants around your deck. Rub the leaves to release the oils or rub the leaf on your arms or neck. The mosquitos don't like the smell and will stay away.

Best plants to repel mosquitos are:

Munsten Lavender

Peppermint. It's not citrusy but has lots of oil.

Citronella. Put 3 or 4 around your deck in a circle.

Lemon verbena, lemon balm, lemon verbena, lemon thyme. All these citrusy plants are great repellents.

Basil - this plant has lots of oils that it releases when you rub it. You can also get lemon basil too.
