Upon approach, I observed the driver of a damaged vehicle sitting on the sidewalk of the traffic circle. She was visibly upset, and stated the reason is because the occupant in the other vehicle told her she was at fault for the accident.
It should be noted that I immediately observed the driver to have slow movements, slurred speech, and droopy eyelids. I also observed an orange prescription container in plain view within her vehicle.
She stated she did not hit her head and was not in pain.
Eventually, based on my observations, I asked the driver to complete field sobriety exercises, which she agreed to.
She was then arrested for DWI and brought into the station for further evaluation.
The driver was ultimately released to a sober adult. She was issued a motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated.
