On September 15th, 2023, Philadelphia Flyers Coach John Tortorella was stopped by a Gibbsboro Police Corporal for speeding. The officer stopped Tortorella for traveling 64 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone, 24 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. The officer later issued Tortorella a speeding ticket.

He is the first American-born NHL coach to reach 500 wins and has twice won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's top coach. He serves as the head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Tortorella was previously the head coach of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Vancouver Canucks. He led Tampa Bay to the 2004 Stanley Cup championship.
