Petroglyph Point Trail in Mesa Verde National Park
Mesa Verde National Park is located in Southwest Colorado. We traveled there in July 2021 to experience the history that was left in the area by the Ancient Puebloan People. Please subscribe to our channel if you enjoy exploring our parks and public lands.
The Petroglyph Point Trail is located near Spruce House Cliff Dwelling. Spruce House was closed while we were there, but we did get to see it from across the valley. This trail is 2.4 miles round trip and requires some rock scrambling and tight squeezes. There is a large petroglyph panel at about 1.5 miles. The park website says, "The trail is narrow, rugged, and rocky, with several steep drop-offs along the canyon wall on the way to the petroglyph panel." It isn't kidding. While the hike is not easy, it is doable and has awesome views of the canyons and Chapin Mesa.
