From the archives: Paul Roberts, author of The End Of Food, summarizes his talk about our food system, circa 2009. Roberts argues that the industrial agriculture system is sick and that applying surface solutions will not get to the root of the problems. Instead, he says, we need to reinvent how we produce and distribute food and that there's a critical role for government to help us get there. After explaining the early history of using sub-therapeutic amounts of antibiotics in agriculture (Part 1, see below), Roberts warns, It won't be quick or inexpensive but ultimately our food system will have to fundamentally change. -Part 2.
