For a number of years, Oregon's Paul Fuller and his wife Judy have been building their food processing business—Sweet Creek Foods—they refer to it as a “glassery” (not a cannery) for quite a number of years.
Instead of cans they process fresh local fruits and vegetables in glass containers for long and short term use. This is a tremendous resource for the region as a way for small farmers to capture more of their food profits through value added food processing.
